About the Venue
The Sheffield Arena became the home of the Sheffield Sharks after the club's second season in the British Basketball League, with the team playing its home games there from 1995 to 1998. Playing in one of the country's premier indoor arenas helped establish the Sharks as a major force in British basketball, attracting large crowds and creating a big-game atmosphere. Following the move to Ponds Forge, the Sharks continued to return to the Arena for selected fixtures each season into the early 2000s, giving supporters the opportunity to enjoy professional basketball on one of the city's biggest stages.
