1991–93

The Beginning — Sheffield Forgers Established

  • The Sheffield Forgers are established in National Basketball League Division 2.
  • After two seasons and a 26–16 overall record, crowned Division 2 Champions in 1993.
  • Promotion secured to NBL Division 1.

1994–95

A New Identity & Immediate Success

  • Club rebrands as the Sheffield Sharks and enters the BBL. Jim Brandon named Head Coach.
  • BBL League Champions (29–7).
  • National Cup Winners — 89–66 vs Thames Valley Tigers (5 Mar 1995). Cup MVP Roger Huggins (29 pts) also named BBL MVP.

European Stage & Global Exposure

  • Competed in the McDonald's Championship alongside the Houston Rockets and Real Madrid.
  • Entered EuroLeague, defeating Residence Helmsange in qualifying before falling to Real Madrid.
  • Also entered Euro Cup; knocked out by Oostende Basket.
1997–98

  • Chris Finch named Head Coach.
  • Uni-ball Trophy Winners — 82–79 vs London Towers (8 Mar 1998, NEC Birmingham). MVP: John Amaechi (40 pts).
  • Terrell Myers hits the game-winning shot in the final.
